Charity walk

New Mills resident Chris Moore is set to tackle the 85 mile Parish Walk in his native Isle of Man – in just 24 hours.

And it's all for a good cause as Chris, 40, and his friend Duncan Firth, 41, are raising money for Blythe House Hospice in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Chris and Duncan, of Hazel Grove, will set off from the island's capital Douglas at 8am on Saturday morning and visit all 17 of the island's parish churches during the walk, which even includes a five mile uphill hike.

Chris said: "We know a couple of people who have been to Blythe House and anyone in the High Peak who has cancer, the chances are they will go there."

Anyone who would like to sponsor Chris and Duncan for the walk can log on to www.justgiving.com/chrismoore33.
