Disley Towpath Action Group is celebrating two years as a canal adopter, after adopting a mile of the Peak Forest Canal, as part of a Canal and River Trust initiative.

The group adopted the stretch between bridges 24 and 27 and have set about to improve the overall appearance of the waterway. Steve O’Sullivan, coordinator for the trust, said: “Thousands of people use the canals each year so it’s great that the Disley group are giving something back for the benefit of others.”
