Can you help volunteer?

DERBYSHIRE County Council’s youth offending service is looking for volunteers to help youngsters at risk of offending.

The county council has a range of different voluntary opportunities available.

A council spokesman said: “All our volunteers help us solve community problems and create a positive link between young people at the community they live in.

“If you’re interested in volunteering, your local youth offending team would love to hear from you.”

The opportunities include volunteer mentors to talk to youngsters about their problems, volunteers to be part of a referral order panel where young people and their families agree contracts as part of a court order and volunteers who can help encourage youngsters to get involved in sports activities in their local community.

To find out more about the opportunities and to apply, email youthoffending service@derbyshire.gov.uk.
