Camcorders to put criminals in frame
PEOPLE in New Mills are to be given special cameras to help reduce anti-social behaviour.
The Lend-a-cam scheme, now in its third year, has been designed to help those residents suffering from damage or anti-social behaviour.
Cameras are installed at the property with the aim of deterring offenders, and, if caught on camera, the images can be used as evidence.
Funding for this year's project has been secured by the police, High Peak Community Housing, Moorlands Housing, Guinness Northern Counties Housing and Johnnie Johnson Housing.
PC Paula Doyle said: "If residents find they are having problems with anti-social behaviour or damage they should get in touch with us.
"We allocate these cameras to suitable properties and they can really help to both deter, catch and also convict offenders."
