Derbyshire Wildlife Trust carried out the first badger vaccinations in the High Peak recently, to combat the spread of TB and save the animals from being culled.

Working with volunteers from Derbyshire Badger Groups, and in partnership with Buxton Civic Association, Poole’s Cavern and Derbyshire County Council, the charity vaccinated at five setts near Buxton.

This follows the first round of vaccinations in Derbyshire, part of a £50,000 five-year programme, at the trust’s Hartington Meadows Nature Reserve in Ashbourne in May.
