Busy road is to close for six weeks

EXTENSIVE gas works in Harpur Hill will see Harpur Hill Road closed for six weeks from Wednesday, July 23.

Trent Barton have been working with the County Council and the contractors to sort out an appropriate bus route for the 185 and 186 services.

The buses will go along the A515 and turn into Heathfield Nook Road. They will then go into Harpur Hill and turn into the top entrance of Berwick Road. The vehicles will then turn left out of the bottom of Berwick Road and up Harpur Hill Road before meeting Heathfield Nook Road and back along the A515.

Passengers going into Buxton from the Trent Avenue or Ferneydale Avenue will need to use the stops on the opposite side of the road from those they normally use.

Signs are to be put up on Tuesday evening to alert passengers to the changes. The timetable will also be slightly altered as Berwick Road and Amberley Drive will be used as terminus for the service during the work.
