Bushes save car from reservoir plunge

Two pensioners had a lucky escape after large bushes stopped their car from plunging into a Peak District reservoir.

The silver Ford Ka in which they were travelling left the road and fell 15 metres down an embankment near to the Derwent Reservoir at lunchtime today (Friday).

Fire crews from Hathersage, Bradwell, Matlock and Chesterfield were called to the scene and assisted the man and woman, who were both uninjured, in getting out of the vehicle.
