Buxton Mountain Rescue Team’s £50,000 for Fifty Years Service appeal has received a boost thanks to the town’s Iceland store.

Generous staff and customers raised over £1,000 in the summer for the Iceland Charitable Foundation and the mountain rescue team was chosen to receive £200.
Volunteer Joe Rees, who collected the cheque, said: “We are now well on our way to raising the £50,000 for our 50th anniversary.

“Thank you for your generosity. Without the general public and people like you making donations we would never reach our target.”

Manager Rob Harrison said helping raise awareness for such a great cause was a pleasure.
