This year’s Bakewell Pudding Race will take place on Sunday June 29 at 11am, marking the start of carnival week.

The first 250 runners will win a Bakewell pudding from the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop, on the Square.

As usual there will be two runs, the fell run and the fun run. The first is a 10.4 kilometre race through the woods to Ballcross, with a “refreshing” finish through the river if conditions are suitable, and the latter is a 4.2 kilometre race along the Monsal Trail.

Funds raised go to local causes. If you represent a local organisation that requires funds, please contact John Scott on jrsco@btinternet.com or 01629 814217. To register, go to Bakewell Recreation Ground, on Haddon Road, at 10am. Entry costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and students.
