An intrepid Buxton student is preparing for a challenge that will leave him feeling on top of the world.

Tom Jenner, 19, hopes to raise £20,000 for the cardiac unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital – which saved his younger brother Ollie’s life – by running 26 miles across the Arctic in the North Pole Marathon in April 2014.

Outdoor activities student Tom said: “I’m really looking forward to the experience and plan to run at least a marathon a week over the next year to train.”
