Appeal after three car crash in Buxton

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a three car collision which left seven people injured yesterday (Sunday).

The accident, which happened just before 1pm on the A515 at Brierlow Bar, involved a Mini Cooper, a Renault Megane and a Ford Mondeo.

As well as police, four ambulances, the air ambulance and fire crews all attended the scene. Firefighters had to cut off the roof of the Mini to release the occupants of the car.

The female driver of the Mini was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with head injuries. A second woman was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport with internal injuries but was later transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital.

A man suffered chest injuries and a third woman suffered a leg fracture and both were taken to Stepping Hill Hospital. The other casualties suffered minor injuries, police said.

The road was re-opened at 5.15pm.
