Ambulance trust’s £20k spend on threatened station
EAST Midlands Ambulance Service are spending over £20,000 on repairs to Buxton Ambulance Station - which is facing closure as part of a widespread reorganisation of the service.
The trust are currently re-surfacing the Park Road station, which could be closed if their Being the Best programme to replace ambulance stations with community ambulance posts and hubs, gets the go-ahead when it comes before the trust board next month.
The plans mean High Peak ambulance crews could be forced to travel to junction 29 of the M1 - the other side of Chesterfield- to collect and drop off their ambulance vehicles at the start and end of each day.
