24 hour service is launched

Information on council tax, benefits and business rates is now available 24–hours–a–day thanks to a new automated telephone service.

High Peak Borough Council is trialling the self–service option for customers to use outside of normal office hours.

As well as accessing information, residents can inform the council of things such as a change of address or a new claim for single person benefit, between 8pm and 8am when the contact centre is closed.

Cllr Anthony McKeown, executive member for community services, said: “We’ve put together some information about the common questions we’re asked and made this available outside normal hours.”

Customers are advised to call 0845 129 4880 for benefits and 0845 129 4858 for council tax and business rates.
