Local author’s MUFC book proves a hit
However, despite a hugely forgettable campaign on the pitch, one local author has penned a book about the club’s European escapades of the past.
Andrew Kirby, from New Mills, has seen his latest release ‘The Pride of All Europe’ soar to the top of Amazon’s European Football section.

He said: “Writing the book was a labour of love really. It was incredibly enjoyable.
“I think the book will appeal to all ages. It covers a 50 to 60-year period and I’ve tried to focus on ten specific matches that United have been involved in.
“It was really interesting talking to people who were at the historic matches, as well as reminisce about more recent games.

Andrew’s first United-themed book was ‘Fergie’s Finest’ and focussed on the great players to play under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The third book is set to be centred on Louis Van Gaal, the incoming United manager.
The Pride of All Europe is available to purchase as an e-book at amazon.co.uk.
