A DERBYSHIRE-based Christian charity has opened three new charity shops in the High Peak.

Valley CIDS welcomed High Peak Mayor Pat Jenner to officially open two Lighthouse charity shops in Buxton, and one in Glossop.

The new shops have provided five new jobs and dozens of volunteering opportunities for people in the local area.

The money raised by the shops will be used to help support the charity’s aims of providing support and assistance to children, young people and families. It is currently building links with churches in the Buxton and Glossop areas.

The Lighthouse shops welcome donations of second-hand goods including good quality furniture which they will collect free of charge.
