FINAL preparations are underway for New Mills’ annual lantern procession, which takes place this weekend.
Over the last two weekends, lantern making workshops have been held at Torr Vale Mill in preparation for Saturday’s parade.
Festival Vice Chairman Jeff Lawton said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the mill owners to make this possible. I am glad that the Festival Committee has been able to play a part in the regeneration of this wonderful mill.”
The free event starts at 7.30pm, meeting below New Mills Central station.
The procession takes in the Torrs and the Millennium Bridge before ending at Newtown Recreation Ground with live music and fireworks.
