Liberation Day for the Over Fifties

Liberation Day, a free annual event aimed at the over 50s across the Derbyshire Dales and High Peak, will take place at Bakewell’s Agricultural Business Centre tomorrow, Friday, between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

The event, organised by Derbyshire Police, together with Derbyshire Dales District, High Peak Borough and Derbyshire County councils, Derbyshire Fire Service and NHS Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust raises awareness of home and personal safety as well as health and other services available in the area.

Sgt Garry Staples, said: “Liberation Day is a chance for organisations across the area to come together and provide older residents with advice on safety and well-being and information about local services which are available to them.”

There will be more than 60 displays and stands with musical entertainment provided by Lady Manners School pupils.
