LETTER: Get local plan right to avoid delays

Anguished cries from residents of Harpur Hill about planning applications for housing, finds an echo in the report on Derbyshire Dales’ Local Plan recently thrown out by government inspectors.

It seems to vindicate the slow but consultative approach taken by High Peak Borough Council on the Local Plan for High Peak.

It appears that to send in an unsatisfactory plan merely results in further delays and impositions from central government.

We were bamboozled into thinking that when the government said ‘localism’ they actually meant local people can decide.
