Kind-hearted couple Geoff and Cassie Haywood have been raising cash for a cause close to their hearts – Help for Heroes.
Veteran Geoff and Cassie started out by taking part in the Chatsworth 5k Run or Dye in October.
Cassie said: “We really enjoyed the challenge and the fact that we raised money for a worthwhile cause. Geoff is a veteran and I have worked with veterans struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).”
But the adventurous pair are not stopping there. They have decided to set a monthly challenge to raise money for other local charities.
The Derbyshire couple have since taken part in a 17-mile trek in the High Peak raising money for the British Heart Foundation, a 5k jog dressed as Santa for the Royal Derby Hospital and a 5k winter run in January for Ashgate Hospice.
February will see them take part in another 5k run in Sheffield for the Stroke Association. And for the next eight weeks they will also be training three times a week to prepare fora boxing match at Sheffield Pond Forge on March 19, raising money for Cancer Research UK. There is also a muddy challenge, a 10k run and much more planned for the pair.
