A NEW Police Community Support Officer has joined the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team (SNT).

PCSO Julie Shaw has taken on the role alongside constables Tom Breakwell and Russ Barlow and fellow PCSOs Michaela Daniels and Matt Cox.

Julie is an experienced PCSO with more than five years experience on the Chapel and Chinley SNT.

During her time at Chapel-en-le-Frith and the surrounding villages, PCSO Shaw completed a coast to coast bike ride to help raise money for a solar powered light for Chapel Memorial Park in 2008 and also helped to launch the police boxing based fitness initiative, Ozbox, into Chapel High School. Since starting on the Buxton team in October she has been running Ozbox sessions for youngsters in Fairfield.
