Jewellery lost in burglaries

POLICE are appealing for information after two daytime burglaries in the High Peak.

A property on Buxton Road in New Mills was broken into sometime between 8am and 5.30pm on Tuesday.

A jewellery box and its contents were stolen which included two distinctive charm bracelets, one silver the other gold.

The thieves broke in through a kitchen window, climbing on garden furniture to gain access. Police are urging homeowners to move items away from windows.

lA home in Charlesworth, on Boggard Lane, was broken into on Monday afternoon between 3pm and 6.30pm.

Items taken included a laptop, HTC mobile phone, a Panasonic camera, a laser measuring device, a dictaphone, two notebooks, an Olympus camera with flash and lens, a quantity of cash, golf clubs and a waterproof coat and hat.
