Japanese inspiration for Glossop artist

Glossop artist Tracy Cupitt reflects the inspiration from time spend in Japan in an exhibition about to open in the Sir Richard Morris Lounge at Derby Cathedral this month.

The exhibition opens on Saturday, September 1, and continues until Saturday September 29 (Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm).

Tracy lives in Glossop where she specialises in still life compositions, working in acrylic and, more recently, intricate portraits in black ink.

She spent a year teaching in two primary schools in Yokosuka, Tokyo Bay and her experience in Japan has added a new dimension to her work.
