THE organisers of Hayfield May Queen festivities were delighted with a record 12 entrants for this year’s royalty elections.
They are now calling for the same level of support from the rest of the village and are urging all residents from the Hayfield parish to show their support for the nominees by turning out to cast their vote.
The voting and exhibition day is to take place on Saturday, February 19, from 10am to 4pm at the Royal Hotel.
Anyone of school age or over and a resident in the Hayfield Parish is allowed to cast a vote.
If you would like to cast your vote but cannot make the official voting day or time, then please contact Zoe on 0773 509 4166 to discuss the options that are available to you.
Although voting is only available to Hayfield residents everyone is welcome to go along and view the memorabilia on display.
Following the vote there will be a children’s disco at the Royal from 7pm–9pm, on February 19 whenthe results will be announced.
The theme for this year’s May Queen carnival, on Saturday May 21, is “Children’s Books” and the committee would welcome as much support as possible to make this year’s festival the best and brightest yet.
All local organisations who would like to take part in the parade are invited to get in touch with the committee to register their interest.
