Injured girl rescued

A 15-year-old girl needed help from mountain rescue teams when she slipped, and jarred her back, while taking part in an outdoor activity day yesterday (Tuesday).

The youngster from Chesterfield, who aggravated a previous injury, was in the Crowden Tower area on the southern edge of Kinder Scout.

The Joint Buxton and Edale Teams Snatch Squad were called to assist along with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The casualty was treated, by team members and air ambulance paramedics, before being flown to the Tipps Car Park, where she was transferred to a land ambulance and taken to the Chesterfield Royal Hospital for further treatment.
