Injured climber airlifted to safety

Buxton and Edale mountain rescue team members went to the aid of a man who fell while bouldering in the Peak District.

The man, aged in his mid-40s, sustained significant injuries to his femur and pelvis in the fall at Stanage Plantation, below Stanage Edge near Hathersage, on Wednesday afternoon.

He received treatment at the scene before being airlifted to safety on board an RAF Sea King helicopter.
