FREE posters discouraging unwanted trick-or-treaters from calling on residents are being handed out by Derbyshire Police.
The posters can be put up in front room windows or doors by people who don’t want to be visited.
Officers are also giving a different poster to shopkeepers that tells customers that eggs and flour will not be sold to anyone under the age of 16.
The posters are part of a plan to target to the annual trend of increased calls about anti-social behaviour around Halloween and bonfire night.
Neighbourhoods will be patrolled to reassure residents, and officers will use powers to disperse large groups of youngsters if they are found to be causing a nuisance.
lFor more information, or for one of the posters, contact your local Safer Neighbourhood team on 101 or see www.derbyshire.police.uk.
