High winds cause damage in New Mills

High winds that have battered the Peak caused damaged in New Mills blowing the roof off a stable.

Firefighters were called out to Castle Edge Road, New Mills at 3.45pm on Thursday afternoon following reports of an unsafe structure.

The stable roof had been blown off and become lodged in trees nearby.

Firefighters successfully removed the roof from the trees and left the incident at 5.15pm.
