THE High Sheriff of Derbyshire has praised Buxton’s police officers.
Alan Woods, who was appointed as High Sheriff in April, and his wife Sheila, spent the day with officers at Buxton police station recently, when he met with senior and frontline officers, spoke to the Safer Neighbourhood policing team and visited the custody suite.
Speaking after his visit, Mr Woods said: “The superb police force based at Buxton Police Station work tirelessly to ensure public safety.
“The inspirational and dedicated commitment that they show to community policing on a daily basis is commendable and for that I extend my heartfelt thanks.”
The High Sheriff is the Queen’s ceremonial representative in Derbyshire for issues relating to the judiciary and the maintenance of law and order.
Mr Woods is visiting police stations across the county over the next few weeks.
