Youngsters from seven schools across the High Peak got their running shoes on for a cross country race.

The Area Cross Country Finals Event held at the Pavilion, in New Mills, consisted of four races which involved girls and boys from years three, four, five and six.

Once all the individual scores were added together, the team with the lowest overall score won the chance to compete at the county finals.

That honour went to Burbage Primary School with a total of 159 points. Meanwhile, New Mills Primary School won the Spirit of the Games Award for Self-Belief. Congratulations was given to all the runners.
