TWO students are cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise funds for The Christie.

Joe Wood, 24, from New Mills, and colleague Will Beasley, have been training at the hospital for two years, and in October will begin working there as radiotherapy physicists.

They started on Saturday and hope to complete the 874-mile trek in two weeks.

Joe said: “We’re delighted to be raising money for The Christie and immensely grateful for the generosity of all those who have sponsored us.

“We’ll all be affected by cancer at some stage in our lives, so it’s vital that we all get on board and raise money for a place that is fighting to make the disease a thing of the past.”
