A TEMPORARY reduction in opening hours at Buxton’s Minor Injuries Unit is to continue, it has been announced.
The temporary change will mean that for the foreseeable future the unit will be open daily from 8am to 8pm, closing two hours earlier than usual due to unplanned staff absence.
However, recruitment for two vacant posts is currently under way to try and relieve the staffing situation.
Patients are advised to seek alternative treatment between the hours of 8pm and 10pm until an updated announcement is made about the service.
Other services available include:
• NHS Direct by calling 0845 4647 for telephone advice about health problems;
• Local pharmacies, for advice on minor ailments and treatments;
• GP out of hours services, available by ringing your usual GP surgery number between 6.30pm and 8am
• or the North Peak Urgent Care Centre, based at New Mills Clinic, Hyde Bank Road, New Mills, telephone 01663 747087 from 9am until 10pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays (6am until 10pm on normal weekdays) to see a health professional without the need for an appointment.
