THE Buxton Hospital League of Friends has had another busy year fundraising for much-needed medical equipment.

Established in 1964, the Friends fundraise and support the hospital and Corbar Birth Centre with important purchases of medical equipment for all the various departments.

The Friends hold coffee mornings at the hospital during the year which not only raise funds but also give people the chance to learn about their work.

Last year, the Friends sponsored an Ultra Sound Machine, Dermatoscope, Auto Focimeter, Opthalmoscope and electric reclining chairs.

And this year major purchases of an ECG machine for outpatients and a mobile lighting unit for the theatre have also been approved in addition to bed/chair sensors and magnetic information boards for the wards.

The Friends have an active committee of nine members and wholeheartedly support the excellent nursing and medical care provided by Buxton Hospital and Corbar Birth Centre.

The Friends sincerely thank the public for their support.

The AGM of The Friends is on Monday January 30, 2012, at Buxton Hospital at 2pm.
