THE ORGANISATION responsible for the out of hours care system in Derbyshire is celebrating its fifth anniversary with the news that it is now providing more services to patients.
Derbyshire Health United has successfully won contracts to manage key services across Derbyshire including the running of Derbyshire’s out of hours district nursing service from April 1.
The move means that all of Derby and Derbyshire’s out of hours care system is to be run by a single management team for the first time ever.
William Jones, Chief Executive for Derbyshire Health United said: “The out of hours care system offers vital advice and support to the thousands of people in Derby and Derbyshire who use it every day when their GP practice is closed.
“We are delighted to have won these new contracts at a time when we are celebrating the improvements we have made to the out of hours service over the past few years.”
Derbyshire Health United offers advice by telephone, triage or face-to-face consultations to patients when their GP surgery is closed.
