A former High Peak mayor has been appointed to represent the NHS interests of people in the area.

Lance Dowson has been elected as the new Public Governor for the High Peak & Dales and Tameside & Glossop constituency of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The Foundation Trust runs Stepping Hill Hospital and community healthcare services.

Lance will represent the interests of Foundation Trust members. He joins fellow governors for the constituency, Lynne Woodward, also from High Peak, and Barbara Vaughan from Tameside.

He said: “I look forward to meeting, and working with, the many local groups that have an interest in the overall health of our community.”
