This colourful motley crew needed a lie down after completing a sponsored ‘bed push’ between Warslow and Hartington back in July.

Organised by the ladies’ committee at Cavendish House Royal British Legion, the event in aid of veterans charity Help for Heroes.

Over the three-mile course, with some steep climbs along the way, they collected £1,258.45.

Hartington poppy queen Alice Wager presented the cheque to Paula Allen, the charity’s Derbyshire co-ordinator, who thanked everyone involved and explained how the money would be used.
