The Great Peak District Fair - set-up to celebrate local culture, food arts and crafts - returns to Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens on October 15 and 16 to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
New this year is a fantastic art exhibition by popular Peak District artist Rob Wilson. Throughout the weekend visitors will be able to follow Rob’s progress on a new painting, as he demonstrates some of the techniques used in his distinctive work which incorporates paint, paper, typeface, printed matter and stitching.
More than 100 stalls will offer products made, reared or grown in and around the Peak District.
BBC’s Colin Sykes will be opening the event on the promenade at 10am on Saturday morning.
Farmers and local traders will be offering an array of wonderful, locally-produced foods including award-winning meats and pies, fresh locally-grown vegetables, pickles and preserves, cheeses, bread and delicious cakes to name but a few.
Peak District Artisans and the High Peak Artists’ and Craftworkers’ Association will be exhibiting high quality art and crafts which include everything from paintings and textiles to ceramics. The weekend promises to be fun for the whole family; with the Buxton Beer Festival marquee on the promenade with award-winning cask ales from around the region.
Families will also be able to enjoy live music, a climbing wall and children’s entertainment.
