GREAT support saw Army Cadets raise more than £2,200, twice their original target, for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Around 80 cadets from A Company, Derbyshire Army Cadet Force, including those in New Mills, Chapel and Buxton, alongside their adult instructors, took part in a sponsored ‘Beep Test’, the fitness test used by the police and military.

The event was organised by Sergeant Sue Tideswell who had learnt about the outstanding level of care offered to sick children at GOSH from Shaun Wood, another ACF adult, who has a family member currently undergoing treatment there.

Sue said: “The effort put in by the cadets and adults has been tremendous.

“This is such a good cause, and they should all be proud of themselves.”
