Mini entrepreneurs Santia and Damara Hazelhurst, Sophie and Lucy Campbell and Caleb Corbally have planned a one-mile sponsored run around Manor Park, in Glossop, in aid of Theo Paphitis’ Many Hands campaign.

The renowned businessman is hoping to raise a total of £50,000 by asking 50 companies to raise £1,000 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity to help enhance the burns unit.

After meeting Theo, sisters Santia, nine, and Damara, eight, of Chisworth, decided they wanted to help.

Their mum, who attends Bodycheck gym in Glossop, knew owner Glenn Campbell had organised fun runs in the past so asked him if he could help.

His daughters Lucy, 15, and Sophie, 13, joined the young committee, as did Apprentice star Adam Corbally’s son Caleb, eight.

The fivesome now hold meetings every Wednesday to discuss the running of the race.

Glenn said: “They’ve raised £1,000 already but they still need to buy medals. Sophie designed the leaflets and Lucy is in charge of finances.

“Once we have entry forms, all the kids are going to ask their head teachers at St Philip Howard Catholic School and Simmondley Primary School if they can hand them out in school.

“They’ve been very professional and even had boardroom meetings with potential sponsors. It’s nice that it’s children organising an event for children in aid of children.”

Entry costs £5 or £8 on the day. Children under nine must be accompanied by an adult.

To enter, visit Bodycheck gym, on Victoria Street, for a sponsorship form or call 01457 853017 for more information.
