Saddle up and head to Disley on Saturday October 12 for a family cycling festival.

A packed day of events is planned, culminating with the unveiling and dedication of a sculpture to honour the achievements of Disley’s Paralympic heroes, Dame Sarah and Barney Storey.

Commissioned by Disley Parish Council, the sculpture is being produced by Disley artists Lynn and Simon Mahoney, and will be unveiled on the Ram Green at 3pm.

Other events will include a cycle decorating competition in the School House Surgery car park from 12pm, with prizes for the best-dressed bikes.

A cycle ride from the Ram’s Head to Lyme Park will depart at 1pm, with three routes to choose from, and medals and certificates signed by the Storeys for all participants.

There will also be bike security marking, a cycle maintenance workshop by Freeride Cycles and a Turbo Trainer Racing Challenge.

Refreshments will be served in the Schoolrooms.
