Voters go to the polls next week to elect a new government. Three candidates are standing in High Peak. Conservative Andrew Bingham hopes to retain his seat, but faces a challenge from Labour’s Ruth George and Liberal Democrat candidate Charles Lawley.

The Green Party has not fielded a candidate but pledged its support to Ruth George. UKIP also chose not to put forward a candidate as it had “taken the decision not to oppose an incumbent MP who campaigned as a vocal leave campaigner”.
