Work created by talented members of Buxton and High Peak Art Society has gone on display at their annual exhibition.

Professional artist Jill Kerr had the difficult task of judging the group’s artwork, which will be featured at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery until December 1.

She said: “I am really impressed with the overall standard. There is an excellent range of styles, techniques and subject matter.”

The Artist of the Year Award went to Joyce Rogers, for her picture of Waterfall, Grysdale Forest.

The Waller Trophy was awarded to Sheila Benton for The Tour 1911.

Three artists were all highly commended, Diane Berresford with Lunchtime Rays, David Allard with The Boatyard and Anne Parsonson with Sunset in Prague.
