TWO BUXTON women who have lost loved ones to cancer are organising a glitzy charity ball in their memory.
Leanne Clegg and Sarah Pickering are organising the event for 230 people at the Palace Hotel on Saturday September 15, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
Events manager Leanne, 27, who lost her grandad two years ago to cancer, said: “It is a charity that is close to both our hearts, so we wanted to really do something really special.”
Sarah, 24, a graphic designer and photographer, is planning the event in memory of her grandparents, and for her auntie who is currently battling cancer.
The entertainment will begin with welcome cocktails, followed by a photo opportunity, three-course meal, raffle and charity auction, back pocket lotto, live entertainment by five-piece Glossop band JEM and a disco.
Tarmac is giving £100 to the charity fund and the Palace Hotel is also donating five per cent of the night’s bar takings.
Tickets, priced £30, are available from the Palace Hotel, Cancer Research UK in Spring Gardens, or from Sarah or Leanne at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a special offer until August 24, anyone purchasing nine tickets will get the tenth half price.
