It was full steam ahead for this rail charter as it chugged its way through the High Peak last weekend.
‘The Tin Bath’ steam charter, operated by The Railway Touring Company, passed through New Mills, Chinley and the Hope Valley on Sunday morning as part of its journey from Preston to Sheffield, returning via Huddersfield and Blackburn.
The service was double-headed by two former London Midland & Scottish Railway Class 5MTs, known as ‘Black Fives’.
This photograph of the steam train passing through Chinley was captured by Dean McNicholas.
The next steam rail charter featuring ‘The Tin Bath’ is scheduled for November.
