THE FORMAL engagement process about the future of Buxton’s Corbar Birth Centre gets underway on Monday.
Lasting for 12 weeks until October 23, the process will include distribution of an engagement document, public meetings and more.
NHS Derbyshire County are currently reviewing the future of Corbar as part of plans to make significant savings as demand for NHS services increases.
The trust have said their review involves only where births take place and will not affect antenatal or postnatal appointments or antenatal classes which will continue to be provided locally.
Public meetings are currently scheduled for Friday, September 30 at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton from 9.30am to 11.30am and Monday, October 3 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.
However, places at the meetings are limited and should be booked in advance.
More details of the meetings and how to book will be in next week’s Buxton Advertiser.
