GAMESLEY Villa Junior Football Club has received a £1,500 grant from The Co-operative’s Community Fund.

The cash boost will help towards the running costs of the club, including pitch hire, training equipment and transportation to and from matches.

Daniel Jenkins, from Gamesley Villa JFC, said: “This generous grant will help us continue to provide this most valuable service throughout the year.

“Some of the money will also be used for our end of season awards ceremony.”

The Community Fund is created by members of The Co-operative Group who elect to donate all, or part, of their twice-yearly dividend payments directly to the scheme.
