Buxton’s new fine food market is to become a permanent monthly feature after being granted permission by High Peak Borough Council.

Organised by Maxine Pearson, of Maxine’s Mobile Pizzas, the next event will be at the bottom of the Slopes on Friday December 20 from 9am when Christmas will be celebrated as well as the official launch of the monthly food fair. Music will be provided by Fairfield Brass Band to add to the festive atmosphere.

Maxine said: “We tested the concept of a fine food fair in October and November and the response from locals and visitors to the town was wonderful, very positive.

“We’re all looking forward to 2014, bringing fine food to the town and entertainment as the evenings get longer and we’re all very grateful to the council for showing its support.

“It’s fantastic that this lovely town of Buxton can now host a fine food fair on the last Friday of every month from January. This small market will now become a big part of the make-up of the spa town of Buxton and a regular feature for locals and visitors.”
