A chance to find out more about the Torrs Hydro is available tomorrow (Sunday) when an open day will be held.
The country’s first community owned and funded Hydro Electricity scheme is situated on the River Goyt in the centre of New Mills.
‘Archie’, the name given to the Archimedes screw that produces the renewable energy, is now a focal point within the town.
Between 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, March 25, visitors will be able to go along and learn more about the Hydro and get to see how it actually works.
