Poets have until April 6 to get their entries in to the national Buxton Poetry Competition run by Buxton Festival and the University of Derby Buxton.

Cash prizes totalling £600 are up for grabs in the adult category, while prizes of book tokens are on offer for winners in the 12-18 years and 11 and under sections.

The competition’s theme is Welcome to Britain.

Winning poets will see their work exhibited at the University of Derby’s Buxton Campus during the 2012 Buxton Festival.

The competition will be judged by poets Ann and Peter Sansom.
