Pupils try Strictly Come Dancing
HOPE Valley College students took part in a 'Strictly Come Dancing' style competition recently.
The dance-off was a culmination of a series of dance lessons Key Stage four pupils took part in during the autumn term. The classes were led by Amy Fairfax, of Amy's School of Dance.
Students attempted several different dances including the Jive, Waltz, Salsa and Cha Cha Cha with winners in each category.
Winners included Sam Chapman and Laura Eastwood, Jess Slack and Elice Botham, while Jodie Cooper and Zoe Farnsworth won the award for Most Entertaining Dancers.
Principal Bernie Hunter said: "The whole event was really impressive and I was amazed at the level of skill the students have picked up in a really short amount of time.
"It is important that learning is more than just education in the classroom and this is a prime example of this."
The competition was judged by Mr Hunter, Head of PE Rob Moxon, Maths Teacher Kay Rumpel and Hayley Hattersley.
