Buxton RUFC rugby fans descended on Twickenham to support their team in the RFU Junior Vase final against Old Cranleighan RFC.
And despite the result, which saw Old Cranleighan win 50-0, Stags fans enjoyed their day at the home of England rugby.
Among them was High Peak MP Andrew Bingham, who said: “I think it is fantastic for the town. When Glossop reached Wembley in the FA Vase it really energised the club and the town, and hopefully it can do the same for Buxton Rugby Club.”
And Martin Oakes, coach of Buxton’s minis section, travelled to Twickenham with Rui and Casper, who play for the under-11s and under-9s respectively. Both juniors lined up on the Twickenham pitch to welcome the players.
Speaking before the game, Martin said: “It was a fantastic achievement in the last round, so hopefully they are going to win.”
